Network Marketing Coaching: If Your Not Convicted You Should Be…

Good Monday Morning Ya’ll,
In an effort to save time I’m going to get right to the word for the day and that is…
If You’re Not Convicted You Should Be…
Okay well I’m not really suggesting you should be carted off to the local hokey but there is a serious point to be made here. In order to succeed in network marketing and more importantly for us with Lightyear we MUST be convicted. In fact we need to be full of conviction about this industry, about this company, about who we are and what we have to offer.
The only way to be able to stop being afraid to pick up that phone and talk to people is to be absolutely one hundred percent convinced that YOU have the answer that they need they just don’t know it yet. It does not matter if they reject if after you’ve made them aware of it that is on them but at least you’ve done your job.
We have to come to the place that it is IN us and we do not waver. We are not thrown off by someone’s negative opinions or statements made out of ignorance. Let me give you a quick example and I’ll get out of your way today. I had a rep ask me to speak with one of his prospects the other day because he was ’skeptical’ about being able to build a business using phone leads. So I said sure I’d talk to him.
Well this guy claimed he had had good success as a salesperson all his life — first clue — and that he does not understand why he has never been able to be successful with network marketing and that he was certain that it absolutely was by no fault of his own — second clue!
I quickly realized this guy is not qualified at all. He was not coachable nor open to humbling himself and perhaps learning how to do what he thought he was really good at in another way. I listened as he confirmed his own doubt and unbelief in the industry and then let him go. He disqualified himself.
That happens all the time you will run into people like that but you have to shrug it off and move on. Now here’s the real kicker. Even though I KNOW better and have talked with people like him before I felt deflated after our conversation. As I sat there I could feel all these doubts start crawling toward my head like ants at Aunt Annie’s picnic.
I could have sat there and let it over take me and wallow in all those negative thoughts and emotions that get shot at our industry and began to doubt it myself but I did not. What helps me when something like that happens is I vent about it for a couple minutes then I move on. I went into the living room and sat down and shared the experience with my husband who has heard this a few times before. He just casually waved his hand and said what a loser and after a couple minutes of talking about how people like him don’t get it and never will then they try to drag everyone else down with them — I was fine. Off to the phone to make more calls!
The only way to keep experiences like that from stopping you is to get convicted. You have to believe in network marketing, and in yourself as a professional networker as if it had already placed you on the Forbes 400 list. I’m not kidding if you don’t see it as that serious and that real neither will your prospects. It is with THAT kind of conviction that you can pick up the phone and talk to anyone and everyone without hesitancy or cowardace because you got it and you are the real deal!!!
We will be covering a LOT more about this topic in our future weekly team trainings. I just wanted to share this thought with you today as you move forward toward your dreams and goals with this company and this team!
Until Next Time…
Ya’ll Be Blessed!
Sherry
