Good Monday Morning Ya’ll,
Have ya’ll met Charlie yet? I didn’t think so. He’s our eleven month old Westie, our baby, our little ’schnookims,’ okay I’ll quit but I think you get the idea. Now you may be asking what in the world does Charlie have to do with your network marketing business — trust me I have some stories to tell on him and I can tie them all into your network marketing business — this is something I’m good at. LOL
Anyway this particular day Charlie is in the process of ‘burying’ a chicken nugget under the pillows in the guest bedroom — make note of the pillow he’s lying on. Now from time to time he just has this over whelming urge to bury something in case of famine I guess and since he’s not allowed to dig a whole in the carpet he does the next best thing and puts his treasures under the bed or pillows — makes perfect sense — right?
Now he’s been allowed to go into the guest room many times unattended to snoop around and/or bury something under the bed or pillows. But one night not long ago while I was busy making calls for my business I hear this flurry of activity upstairs.
Soon after our son Joshua comes running down the steps with Charlie tucked in his arms. He stopped beside my desk and when I turned and looked up I almost fell out of my chair laughing. There stood Joshua and Charlie covered in feathers.
Joshua’s eyes are as wide as silver dollars and he’s pointing upstairs. Charlie’s got what looks like dust or something about two inches thick all over him. Of course all this is not disturbing my attempts to prospect at all. While still trying to sound intelligent and business savvy I’m continuing a conversation with a new prospect while going up the steps to survey the damage.
When I got to the guest room I witnessed what it must feel like to be inside an snow globe. There stood our other son Jacob and their cousin Stephen in the room with feathers flying everywhere. The ceiling fan was on so of course that made it even worse. I mean tiny feathers where everywhere. The boys heads were covered and they had the most stunned looks on their faces — it was hilarious.
They are looking to me to ‘do something’ meanwhile Charlie is burping feathers! So I did something I made a sweeping motion like that of running a vaccuum and pointed to the boys then turned to Joshua and motioned toward the hallway where feathers continue to float through the air from the open balcony and mouth the words, “You got the downstairs.” Then I promptly left the scene. I mean let’s keep our priorities straight shall we?
This turned out to be a prime example of what you can expect when you get serious about building your network marketing business — the unexpected. Everything and everyone in your house will act up! So what do you do when these things happen?
You dictate to someone else if possible if not put out the fire as best you can and get right back to it. Eventually those little ‘emps’ that run around trying to cause so much disturbance that you’ll quit get tired and go away. You can wear them down if you just REFUSE to Quit!!!
Then down the road while your sitting at the drive through of your bank getting ready to deposit that big fat check you would not otherwise have if you had not stuck it out during the unexpected — you can look back and have a good laugh.
Until next time…
Ya’ll Be Blessed!
